Fangirl’s Life

            A girl who is a fan of a band or group is being called as fangirl. It’s funny how most of the people in the society think that fangirls are very obsessed and only know how to follow  a certain band that they like everywhere, while screaming. Well, some of them are. But most of fangirls life normally. They are using music just to refresh themselves from a hectic daily life.

            I have listened to Korean pop (Kpop) for 6 years. That makes me a fangirl as well. After my friend showed me a music video clip of a boyband, I started to listen to kpop. Kpop has became my way to relieve all the stress that I felt. But like what people always say, everything have their own positive and negative sides. Being a fangirl is just the same.

            Let me tell you the negative effects of being a fangirl beforehand. First, if you become a fangirl, you will have to sleep late. Because the different timezones, sometimes fangirls need to stay awake until late night if they don’t want to miss the latest update or an online event that won’t be held any other time. Second, you will need an extra internet quota. The quota will be used by fangirls to download music videos or shows. And sometimes you’ll start comparing yourself with them. They seems to be in a perfect shape. Most of people want to be as flawless as them. We have to admit that.

            But hey, being a fangirl does not always give a bad effects to us. There is a lot of positive effects that we can get. For example, when you see the talented members of the group, you’ll start to think about your ability. You’ll start to think “Will I be able to expand my ability to do better?” “If they can do it why can’t I?” If you had thought of that, you would have motivated a lot.

            Also, more money will be needed by fangirls to buy a brand new imported original music album. To support the group legally, we need to buy the original album which is only available to buy in their region. So, we need to buy the imported album which is kind of expensive (because tax fee will be added to the original price). It gives another motivation to us to be better at saving moneys.

            Being a fangirl should not affect your study. You have to maintain your score, even you have to be better than before so your parents won’t scold you. Although its hard, being a fangirl gives you a lot of fun, you could also learn new languages. When you watch a video with an English subtitle, you began to learn.

            Those are the good and bad things about being a fangirl that I could tell for now on. There’s still a lot of things to discover while having fun listening to the musics.
